COSEED team of staff and the advisory board work at all times collaboratively with key associates to deliver effective and impactful results depending on program/project needs. Directors and associates may at some point engage as either project leads or principal investigators, assisted by a team of assistants, interns, volunteers and support staff
Mr. Jackson Chacha - Programs Manager
Mr. Jackson is a renowned environmental and conservation expert, with over 5 years of hands-on experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Coastal and Marine Resource Management from Kenyatta University and is currently pursuing his MSc in Environmental Science from Pwani University. With several years of coastal resources sustainable use, conservation and management he is well versed with knowledge in Coastal and Marine Resource Management and Conservation, Aquaculture, Mariculture, Fisheries, Policy formulation and implementation, Development of resource management plans; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Auditing(EA); Biodiversity Assessment and Conservation; Routine management practices in ponds; Artificial propagation of catfish species, Regular monitoring of the water quality parameters; Rehabilitation and restoration of degraded ecosystems such as seagrass and mangroves; sample collection and processing. Mr. Jackson has efficient skills in the use of statistical packages (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), STATA and R software as data analysis tools and applications. He has previously worked for KMFRI and WWF in various capacities and programs as a researcher and project officer. He is currently at COSEED as a Programs Manager, passionate about program management, innovation, mobilization, fundraising and collaborating for environmental sustainability and rural communities’ well-being!
Mr. Gilbert Shitabule - Data manager
Gilbert Shitabule gives COSEEDs data meaning for impactful and informed decisions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics and computer science from the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) with several years in data and information science management, visualization, and web application development technologies that give sense to COSEED data. He loves evidence-based conservation that links environmental conservation to effective data collection and management systems. He is COSEEDs Data Manager in charge of information management, project coordination and implementation.
Ms. Faith Woli - Operations Manager
Faith Woli, is an accountant with more than 5 years of professional experience. She holds a Business Management Degree (Accounting Option) and a Diploma in Accounting. She is currently working at Coastal Sustainable Environmental and Economic Development (COSEED) as our Operations Manager. She is a talented and enthusiastic accounting professional knowledgeable in preparing financial reports, accounting and financial management standards, preparing accurate and timely reports and general ledger operations. She has also mastered preparing monthly financial statements, reconciling and maintaining balance sheet accounts, payroll, cash flow, budgets, fixed assets, and monitoring discrepancies. She is able to learn new tasks quickly and do them with due diligence. Her hobbies include Watching documentaries and learning new things, traveling, swimming, community service and volunteering.
